Favourite 35mm Camera (was)
So many cameras over the years, they've all had their good and bad points. When I was in "film mode" the camera I liked best in my pocket (not round my neck) was the Olympus XA2. It's had that solid feel about it, after putting the film in it the only thing you needed to remember was check the three point zone focussing was set. On a bright day you could just about leave it in the mid position it moved to as you clicked the clamshell lens cover open, everything was in focus.
And on the subject of 35mm film, my interest is declining, mainly due to cost and the convenience of smartphone photography. Particularly over the last year I've used my current phone, a Moto Edge 40 Neo much more than a real camera. This is the first phone I've had with Optical Image Stabilization. A lot of my phone photos I post-process in the phone with the fantastic free Android Snapseed App. Also available for iPhones.
On my phone I have created film simulation presets (looks) that mimic 35mm grain, colour and aesthetics, this is just so convenient that I feel the enthusiasm to use a film camera has gone :-[
